DOI® System Examples

The following links are examples of some of the ways in which Registration Agencies and their customers are using DOI® names. Note that the use of DOI names as persistent identifiers is guaranteed by the active management of the DOI record (and so not necessarily seen by the user); the use of DOI names as interoperable identifiers is facilitated by the provision of structured DOI metadata (which may be seen by the user or may be machine-to-machine).

Also of interest are presentations given at open DOI Outreach meetings from several DOI Registration Agencies describing how they have implemented DOI for their industries and giving examples of the applications that have been built.
